The Dry Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for handling the loading of all trucks/containers on a daily basis. Must complete all shipments as required/stated by the warehouse system/manifest. Responsible for the operation of his/her equipment, and must report any malfunctions to his/her supervisor. Must consult the shipping schedule for any changes as communicated by the warehouse supervisor, logistics coordinator and members of the Inside Sales Support team.

Requirements

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to work 8-hour or 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of warehouse management software
  • RF scanning knowledge
  • SAP experience
  • Warehouse forklift experience
  • Lift Truck Certification
  • Yard Dog Certification
  • Knowledge of truck loading requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate paperwork.
  • Lift truck operation; following all safety measures and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the control and management of inventory.
  • Follow operating procedures for inspection and loading of incoming/outgoing trucks and inventory.
  • Ability to match and proof order requirements with physical inventory.
  • Accountable for safe operation of lift trucks so that personnel, inventory, surrounding buildings and lift equipment are protected.
  • Stage and pull containers into dock doors in a safe manner so that personnel, inventory, surrounding buildings and equipment are protected.
  • Responsible for maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
  • Demonstrate teambuilding skills and effectively communicate with others.
  • Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
  • Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job training.
  • Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
  • Participate in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
  • Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
  • Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
  • Annual completion of OSHA required safety training.
