Position Summary: This position is responsible for unloading raw materials and working directly with the production line to support production needs. Teams will also palletize and load finished product in addition to tracking inventory and following safety standards. HOURS: 2pm-10:30pm Mon-Fri + overtime as necessary Shift is subject to change due to Union bid system LOCATION: 7405 Page Ave, St. Louis, MO climate controlled PAY: $21.50 + $0.75 shift differential & bonus (bi-weekly pay) HIRE TYPE: Direct, Full time What You'll Do: Delivering the proper material on time to the various areas of the manufacturing plant, according to the requisitions or instructions given to them. Prepare finished goods for transportation to the distribution site. Load and offload trailers and store finished and unfinished products in the proper place. Count and verify by proper item and lot number, all materials during palletization, loading and unloading and stores all materials in the proper place. Assemble, weigh, and stage raw materials and packaging components needed for production and maintains proper documentation. Occasionally performing proper palletization of finished or unfinished products and storing them in the proper place as designated. Refueling/recharging material-handling equipment and complete daily maintenance. This includes but is not limited to: cleaning the equipment and checking the oil, water, battery, and lubrication of the equipment. Exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees. Maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP or ISO procedures). Maintain clean equipment and work areas at all time. Moving and loading hazardous wastes, as directed by the supervisor. Move and arrange drums on pallets from the floor. Weigh drums and bags of raw materials, calculate usage required, and containers as needed. Perform necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Manual dexterity and good peripheral vision required.
  • Basic reading, math, writing and data entry skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, and machine instruction manuals.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, as required.
  • Ability and willingness to become forklift certified.
  • Must be capable of operating forklift trucks and other material-handling equipment for the loading and unloading of railroad cars and trucks.
  • Ability to operate motor-driven Forklift, other material-handling equipment, and prime mover.
  • May be expected to move, carry, and lift approximately 60 pounds.
  • May be expected to climb heights of approximately 10 feet.
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Willing to work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
  • Must adhere to safety and PPE policy.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience working as a Forklift Operator in a production setting/partnering with production lines.
  • Experience operating electric sit down, reach, counterbalance equipment with tablets.
  • Current forklift certification.
  • Previous experience using SAP, Oracle or similar ERP/WMS systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to organize and maintain organization.
  • Experience working with and reading scales.
  • Ability to opreate forklifts within limited spaces, taking tight turns, and working in fast-paced environments.
