About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Seasonal Forklift Operator II responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to perform various duties throughout the plant. This role involves transporting containers such as pallets, drums, and bins using multiple types of forklifts, including electric and propane models. The primary tasks include moving product from one location to another and operating forklifts with different attachments. This position is located at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA, and is part-time, with full-time hours during the processing season (July-October) and part-time hours during the rest of the year.
Requirements
- Forklift Certification preferred; demonstrates the ability to complete all Duties and Responsibilities for Forklift Operator Level II.
- Experience thoroughly inspecting and driving a forklift in a safe manner in a production/warehouse environment.
- Must be able to work any shift.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
Responsibilities
- Understand and complete Ingredient batch paperwork and pull proper materials.
- Properly pick orders using a scan gun, including partial pallets, documenting inventory changes.
- Consolidate product from partial pallets to single pallets following Inventory Control Procedures.
- Load, unload, and move product safely and efficiently, including using a slip-sheet forklift for trucks.
- Perform Scan-to-Load and Transfer functions on the handheld scanner.
