Forklift Mechanic - Field. This position is based out of our St. Louis, MO branch and serves the greater St. Louis Metropolitan and surrounding area. Requirements

  • Experience as either a Diesel Mechanic, Forklift Technician/Mechanic, or Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • Very good skills in repairing powered industrial equipment.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Time management expertise to handle multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with laptop fundamentals.
  • Ownership of necessary tools for repairs, per our recommended tool list.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Certification to operate material handling equipment.
  • Commitment to the company's vision and mission.
  • Employee frequently lifts up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds, and rarely up to 100 pounds.
  • Employee is required to frequently stand, recline (lying on back), kneel, walk, twist, reach, and use feet to repair and operate machinery.
  • Employee is required to occasionally sit, stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and crawl.
  • Constant use of hands and fingers to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, computer equipment, and other office equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have listening, speaking, and writing skills to communicate with customers and service office.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned service jobs with precision and dedication.
  • Collaborate with the Road Lead Mechanic, ensuring effective communication on any technical challenges or unusual service problems.
  • Attend service training classes to stay up to date on new products and refresh your knowledge on less encountered ones.
  • Submit daily paperwork promptly, including timecards and maintenance reports with customer signatures.
  • Maintain open communication with dispatchers and the service office, updating them on job status and availability for new assignments.
  • Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair, providing valuable recommendations based on complexity or safety reasons.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with territory sales representatives, keeping them informed of potential sales opportunities.
  • Always uphold safety rules and policies, ensuring a secure working environment.
