About The Position

The Forklift Loader – Truck Loader is responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading trucks carrying roofing panels, coils, and other building materials. This role requires forklift experience, knowledge of warehouse operations, and a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork. The Forklift Loader supports smooth material flow and proper inventory handling throughout the warehouse.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of forklift operation and material handling procedures
  • Ability to read and understand load orders, shipping documents, and inventory records
  • Experience loading trucks with attention to weight limits and balance
  • Ability to work evening and overnight hours
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and trailers
  • Load roofing panels, steel coils, and building materials according to load plans
  • Scan all orders being loaded onto delivery trucks
  • Verify load accuracy and ensure materials match shipping and load documents
  • Stack, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Ensure proper weight distribution and truck mapping to prevent overloading
  • Document material movements to support accurate inventory records
  • Identify and report damaged materials to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Perform routine housekeeping and safety checks
  • Follow all forklift safety procedures and warehouse safety policies
  • Conduct pre‑operational forklift inspections and report maintenance issues
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Participate in safety training and promote a strong safety culture
  • Work closely with warehouse staff and supervisors to support daily operations
  • Assist with bi‑annual plant inventory counts
  • Perform other warehouse‑related duties as assigned
