About The Position

P&G is the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world, with operations in over 75 countries and 65 trusted brands. Our 24/7 Auburn, Maine manufacturing site is seeking Forklift Drivers to join the Logistics Department. The Auburn plant manufactures tampon production for the Feminine Care business unit and operates under core values of safety, quality, confidence, and trust. Forklift Drivers are essential for moving critical materials, replenishing automation systems, and ensuring materials and product meet P&G’s quality expectations, enabling on-time shipments. The role encourages employees to learn multiple functions within the department, support their team, and advance by demonstrating operating, maintenance, and leadership skills. Employees are encouraged to be curious, challenge the status quo, and be team players. There are opportunities to expand into electrical, quality assurance, safety and hygiene, and other areas of functional expertise. While starting in Logistics, future business needs may allow for transfers to other operating departments within the site.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Willing to work rotating shifts
  • Able to pass a DOT physical / Motor vehicle operator evaluation
  • Able to display skills in powered industrial truck operation in a production environment
  • Able to display skills in operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment
  • Maintaining accurate records and data
  • Display strong technical, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Able to sit/stand on material handling equipment continuously for extended periods of time
  • Can climb in and out of forklift frequently
  • Able to rotate upper body and look over the shoulder frequently
  • Can reach above shoulder height
  • Must have no neck/upper back conditions that would prevent upper body rotation
  • Can display sense of orientation and coordination while driving backwards
  • Able to work in tight/congested area and able to enter confined spaces
  • Able to climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms
  • Able to Bend/Squat, turn, and twist frequently
  • Can use basic hand and power tools
  • Able to lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; Lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Be able to walk varying distances to travel between multiple warehouses located throughout the facility
  • Wear required safety personal protective equipment (eye protection, safety shoes, high visibility vest, hat with visor, gloves)
  • Able to work with loud noise (>85db) while wearing ear protection

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating powered industrial forklifts and reach trucks is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operating forklifts and reach trucks
  • Controlling the process from a computer terminal
  • Receiving raw and packing materials to support production
  • Loading outbound finished product shipments for customers
  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Operating essential material handling equipment at the site e.g., clamp truck, forklift, reach truck, hand trucks, etc
