About The Position

Conagra Brands in Darien, WI, a local supplier of Birds Eye products, is seeking qualified individuals to fill a Forklift Dock B role in the Distribution department for 2nd shift. This position reports to Distribution Supervisors and involves working on-site at one of Conagra's largest manufacturing facilities with over 800 employees. The role requires assisting the stacking crew in assembling orders by moving product, stacking cases, and pallet movement, as well as transporting product to and from truck staging. The Forklift Driver is responsible for high stacking and down stacking as needed, ensuring trailer hook engagement or wheel chocking, and placing ramps and changing lights to indicate trailer status. The role also includes loading and unloading trailers (sometimes manually), fastening and removing stacking aids, and transporting materials throughout the plant. Additionally, the position requires completing forklift operation paperwork, changing forklift batteries following proper procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Any other duty assigned by Management will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable of battery room equipment and procedures.
  • Must be able to operate and perform proper maintenance of forklift trucks.
  • Must be able to carefully transport materials.
  • Must be able to operate a pull pack.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must be knowledgeable of basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties.
  • Must be aware of all safety rules/procedures and be willing to follow them.

Responsibilities

  • Assists stacking crew in assembling orders by moving product around on the dock, stacking cases, and pallet movement.
  • Transports product to and from truck staging.
  • High stacks and down stacks as needed.
  • Ensures trailer hook (Dok Lok) is engaged or that trailer wheels are choked prior to loading/unloading.
  • Puts ramp in place and changes lights to indicate whether or not trailer is hooked/choked.
  • Loads and unloads trailers, sometimes manually.
  • Fastens stacking aids to incoming product and removes from outgoing product.
  • Transports fiber and other materials throughout plant and accessory buildings if required.
  • Completes paperwork concerning operation of forklift as required.
  • Changes battery in truck when necessary and follows proper battery room procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Performs any other duty assigned by Management.
  • Learns and performs all functions of Distribution driving positions to assist as needed as required by management.
