About The Position

This position operates out of our NEW Distribution Center in Altavista, VA, within the Abbott Nutrition division. The role is responsible for the timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to designated areas and for supporting shipments of finished products to customers. The Forklift Driver will utilize a Cambar radio frequency inventory system for storing, picking, and assembling finished products, and will operate a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment. Maintaining proper FIFO flow, ensuring accuracy in storing and picking goods, and keeping the work area clean are key aspects of this role. The position also involves maintaining accurate records and reconciling inventory errors.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas.
  • Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift.
  • Via use of Cambar radio frequency inventory system, the employee stores, picks, or assembles finished product for shipment.
  • Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product.
  • Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products.
  • Includes operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift).
  • Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying the item number, quantity, release status, and lot number.
  • Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy.
  • Utilize knowledge of finished product nomenclature and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and of the finished goods warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate records and reconciles inventory errors.
  • All other tasks as assigned by management to meet the needs of the business.
