This role provides task leadership and technical expertise to material handlers engaged in the timely and accurate movement and control of inventory. The position involves performing tasks such as receiving, shipping, counting, packaging, stock rotation, part identification, and shelf life determination. The Forklift Driver facilitates the timely and accurate movement and control of inventory in their designated area of responsibility, balances personnel to minimize constraints, and monitors quantity and quality output to meet group goals. They also monitor material handlers' performance by auditing transaction accuracy, compile data, and generate reports to illustrate process effectiveness. Problem-solving includes identifying, documenting, and proposing solutions for processing issues. Responsibilities also include receiving and processing incoming materials, verifying items against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, preparing finished goods for shipment, ordering and maintaining shipping supplies, verifying counts and part numbers, preparing shipping documentation and labels, scheduling outgoing shipments, interacting with freight carriers, posting weight and shipping charges, maintaining shipment files, and researching customer claims regarding shipments or defective products, generating transactions to correct errors.
