About The Position

The Forklift Driver in the Packing Department is responsible for maintaining the supply of skids for auto and semi-auto lines, double stacking empty bins, baling scrap cardboard, emptying gaylords of trash, and pulling products from the warehouse for repacks. This role also involves assisting on packing lines when needed, maintaining knowledge of QMS and ISO Standards, and embodying a GUNG-HO attitude in support of the Amcor vision statement, goals, and company culture. The position requires adherence to GMPs and a strong focus on safety procedures, as well as training and mentoring new hires and temporary employees. The Forklift Driver will also pull finished goods from take-off lines and inventory them to proper locations.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience required
  • Must be on time
  • Must work well with other department members
  • Must be a Role Model – No exceptions from safety absolutes and plant rules
  • If you feel a task that you have been asked to complete is unsafe, stop and request additional information
  • Must take immediate action to address a safety hazard
  • Visible participation in pre- shift meetings reiterating safety
  • Daily review housekeeping with focus on your areas
  • Daily conduct conversations with team members on safety
  • Respond to employee concerns with the respect that it deserves

Responsibilities

  • Maintain supply of skids for auto lines and semi-auto lines
  • Double stack empty bins
  • Bale scrap cardboard
  • Empty gaylord of trash into outside dumpster
  • Pull products from warehouse for repacks
  • Assist on packing lines when needed
  • Maintain knowledge of QMS and ISO Standards

  • Follow and encourage GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Ensure that safety is a priority by following all safety procedures
  • Train and mentor new hires and temporary employees
  • Pull FG from take off lines and Inventory complete to proper locations
  • Keep finished skids moved to maintain packing flow
  • Operate forklift in safe manner
  • Be on time
