About The Position

The Forklift Driver is responsible for preparing merchandise and securing it for safe, easy transport, communicating with leadership to determine priorities, and performing regular machine maintenance on forklifts. This role is based at DrinkPAK’s Texas Beverage Manufacturing Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The position requires working a 12-hour per day, 2/2/3 schedule, with the possibility of working either day and/or night shifts. The base hourly rate is $24/hr plus a $2 shift differential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Graduate Equivalency Diploma required.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Forklift Certification required
  • Must be able to pass a company-administered forklift training and evaluation in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Proven ability to safely operate a sit-down motorized Forklift
  • Ability to navigate within a WMS system
  • Must have a full understanding of the operations of a Forklift, (electrical or Propane)
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate: Sit-down and stand-up forklifts, Pallet jacks, Reach trucks and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to complete basic paperwork or use handheld scanners/inventory systems.
  • Basic math and reading skills to follow instructions and count products.
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of loading/unloading, staging, and inventory rotation (FIFO/FEFO) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Unloads and loads trucks in a safe and timely manner to serve our customers
  • Plans supply and material requirements by studying production schedule, scheduling deliveries to production area
  • Retrieves supplies and materials by studying specifications; locating and verifying supplies and materials; secures pallets on truck; moves pallet to production location
  • Maintains inventory in production area by anticipating and tracking usage.
  • Monitors inventory by reporting discrepancies.
  • Clears production area by securing and moving finished pallets and moving empty pallets
  • Documents actions by logging movements of supplies, materials, and finished goods
  • Maintains safe work environment by watching out for pedestrian traffic; following standards and procedures; complying with safety / legal regulations.
  • Keeps forklift operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Interacts and maintains positive relationships with all levels of leadership
  • Accomplishes special projects and other assignments/duties as required by management
  • Compliant to all safety rules and regulations, GMP’s and all DrinkPAK’s policies and procedures
  • Establishes and maintains high standards for quality, housekeeping and productivity
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job
