About The Position

The Forklift Driver works in Production or the Distribution Center. In Production, the role supplies plant locations with the materials needed for daily production. In the Distribution Center, the role pulls and/or loads trucks with products purchased by customers. The position involves moving, placing, and tracking products; preparing production lines; unloading raw materials; and inspecting forklifts. The job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Previous experience.
• Proper forklift training and certification through McCall Farms; must pass written and driving tests.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate orally with others.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.
• Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds numerous times per day.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, hairnets, and anti-slip footwear.

Responsibilities

• Rotate stock to ensure the oldest product is used first.
• Load trucks with the correct product types and damage-free product.
• Set up production lines by ensuring totes are in the proper locations and product is ready to be processed.
• Dump waste product and trash hoppers as necessary.
• Unload raw product from trailers and trucks.
• Maintain current knowledge of product locations and quantities waiting to be processed.
• Conduct forklift inspections as required.
• Ensure production lines have the proper amount of product in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Record goods placement, locations, and quantities to support inventory control.
• Work with supervisors from various departments regarding product placement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
