About The Position

Safely and efficiently operate gas or electric powered tow motors, lift trucks, hand trucks or lifts, to load, unload, move, stack or haul raw materials, in process materials, products or finished goods in support of the, receiving, shipping and production operations. Must maintain a good safety and attendance record. Must have the ability to work 40 hours per week and overtime as necessary. Meet daily productivity and quality goals. Maintain the cleanliness of assigned work areas. Follow all site wide GMP policies. Constant standing, walking, and sitting; frequent twisting, bending, and lifting from the ground; occasionally reaching and crouching. Ability to lift 1-30lbs daily and up to 50lbs on an infrequent basis. Ability to get on and off forklifts daily (approx. 20 times a day). May be assigned to assist in any department as needed to support overall operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to work 40 hours per week and overtime as necessary.
  • Constant standing, walking, and sitting; frequent twisting, bending, and lifting from the ground; occasionally reaching and crouching.
  • Ability to lift 1-30lbs daily and up to 50lbs on an infrequent basis.
  • Ability to get on and off forklifts daily (approx. 20 times a day).
  • Possess a valid “powered industrial operators permit”.
  • Complete and pass advanced forklift certification testing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proven use of forklift operator specific safety and operational rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully operate portable scanner equipment as needed.
  • Complete and maintain training associated with battery changing equipment (Multi Shifter).
  • Understand and follow the proper battery maintenance and safety processes, i.e. checking water levels, adding water, logging battery status and properly disconnecting batteries.
  • Complete and maintain training associated with Mac & Wultec Wrappers.
  • Must demonstrate ability to follow all dock safety procedures and use of all dock safety tools correctly. (Dock Locks / Dock Levelers / Wheel Chocks / Trailer jacks / Glad Hand Locks and Dock Safety Visuals).
  • Must be able to understand and validate documents (BOL/Packing Slips) for inbound shipments, departures and movement of goods. Identify and report quality issues and shortages of such goods.
  • Must be of reasonable mind and understanding to safely accept and complete job assignments and take direction.
  • Must have ability to coordinate 2 to 3 other drivers and/or clerks in an isolated building or area.
  • A comprehension level is required to add and subtract all units of measure, to read and copy figures, or count and record figures.
  • A comprehension level is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form, and to deal with problems regarding the function of a forklift.
