About The Position

The Forklift Driver is responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, loading and unloading materials, monitoring material usage, supplying production lines with raw materials, weighing materials, keeping production lines supplied, inventorying product, and communicating with the floor lead regarding various operational issues. This role requires adherence to all company safety policies and the ability to adapt to changing warehouse demands. Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have earned a High School Diploma, GED, required schooling, qualifying experience or skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented and self-directed.
  • Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to this position and to the safety regulations.
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base profile for this position.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Must be able to perform all the job functions safely.
  • Must meet the company quality and performance standards for the job as specified.
  • Must agree to wear the proper assigned PPE and shoes approved for this job as specified in Contact and Safety Requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Operator experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Load trucks and secure product in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Load and unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  • Monitor material usage on work floor and supply production lines with raw materials.
  • Weigh materials or products and record results on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Keep production lines supplied with raw materials.
  • Inventory product as needed.
  • Label, sort, wrap and tie product.
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Adapt schedule to work alongside the changing demands of the warehouse.
  • Communicate with floor lead – maintenance issues, downtime, production issues, unacceptable or non-conforming loads, poor bale quality, or any other issues with material being handled.
  • Meet all company safety policies and report any concerns related to required maintenance of machines.
  • Perform special projects as business dictates.
