About The Position

The Forklift Driver/Operator is responsible for the accurate and efficient distribution of product within the company and department. This role requires effective communication with various departments and Distribution Management. The company is a growing retailer with multiple brands and a significant presence in shopping centers nationwide, operating distribution centers and 3PL services.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Previous warehouse experience
Previous experience as a forklift operator
Excellent physical condition and coordination
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to work at elevated heights in a non-climate-controlled environment
Ability to lift up to 60lbs unassisted
Must pass drug screen
Great organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to perform basic math
Excellent hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision
Completion of forklift driving course (a plus)
OSHA training (a plus)

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of forklifts.
Pick, pack, check, and load products accurately on/off and to/from designated areas in the facility.
Load, unload, locate, move, stack, ship, and track products and receiving warehouse items.
Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency and check that loads are centered and properly stacked.
Secure loads to forklift before transportation.
Stretch wrap all outbound pallets.
Manage inventory by utilizing scanning equipment and performing quality control of all pallets.
Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
Unload merchandise from trailers or manually unload floor-loaded containers.
Assist with receiving merchandise using an android device, and restack pallets as necessary.
Work as a team to load and unload materials.
Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and perform regular inspections to guarantee safety.
Safely operate all lift truck equipment according to procedures.
Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to safety standards, following safety rules, and practicing good departmental housekeeping.
Understand computer applications and scanning procedures.
Meet performance standards for production and quality assurance, adhere to production schedules, and stay motivated to accomplish tasks timely and efficiently.
Cross-train to assist in other areas of the department or distribution center.
Take on new job responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.
Be available for overtime during peak/seasonal needs, including evenings and weekends, with flexibility for earlier start times and extended hours.
