About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Distribution is a leader in distributing building products for residential, light commercial and home improvement applications worldwide. We have an immediate opening for a Forklift and Building Materials Operator at our Santa Clarita Distribution Center. As a Forklift and Building Materials Operator, you're directly responsible for moving the products that builders, contractors and homeowners rely on every day. The hourly wage for this role is $20.75 plus shift differential. The hours are 1:00pm-9:45PM. This position may include overtime and a unionize facility. This is not an inside warehouse position. This role will perform manual labor 55-65% of the time.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
A positive willing to learn attitude.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
Must be able work outside in the elements five days a week and occasional Saturdays depending on business needs.
Ability to work on a computer.
Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

No prior forklift operator experience required. Training provided.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars.
Safely do your job to ensure your personal safety and the safety of others.
Courage to intervene in any unsafe practices.
Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
Accurately count units, record totals and document shipping and receiving activities.
Develop in depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
