About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift/Crane Operator to support the Annealing department. This role involves leading daily department operations, including correctly piling and planning material flow in and out of the department. The operator will be responsible for moving material safely with a forklift and/or crane to set up furnaces and coolers. This position requires working with crew members to ensure work is completed safely, meeting quality expectations, and achieving productivity demands.

Requirements

Skilled and safety-conscious Forklift/Crane Operator.
Ability to lead daily department operations.
Proficiency in correctly piling and planning material flow.
Ability to move material safely with a forklift and/or crane.
Experience setting up furnaces and coolers.
Ability to work with crew members to ensure work is completed safely.
Ability to meet quality expectations.
Ability to meet productivity demands.
Experience with Oracle or similar systems for tracking and documentation.
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives using daily transformation tools.
High attendance rate.
Flexibility in daily assignments.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the Annealing department.
Experience leading by example and supporting team development in crane operations and annealing processes.

Responsibilities

Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
Follow all safety protocols for forklift and crane operations.
Complete and log daily equipment inspections.
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move and stage materials.
Support production by emptying scrap tubs and clearing finished products.
Assist with marking picklists, aligning orders per machine, and managing scrap hoppers.
Lead by example and support team development in crane operations and annealing processes.
Identify problems, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Take ownership of mill operations and contribute to team success.
Utilize Oracle or similar systems for tracking and documentation.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives using daily transformation tools.
Maintain a high attendance rate and demonstrate flexibility in daily assignments.
Perform additional duties assigned to support overall facility productivity.
