About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a forklift to handle product, verify cases picked against the Bill of Lading, and communicate any issues to management for improvements. The role also includes food safety responsibilities such as shipping product free of contamination, following Ken's Foods Security and GMP policies, reporting suspicious activities, inspecting the work area for contamination, and immediately reporting any leaking or spilled product. Additionally, the operator must inspect all incoming and outgoing loads for signs of product contamination.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE STAND UP FORKLIFT
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
