About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Fork Truck Operator is responsible for the efficient and timely movement of lumber, materials, and finished product throughout the physical plant in accordance with fork truck operation safety standards. The role includes training across areas of the Yard Department and operating various types of mobile and fixed equipment.

Requirements

• Able to read and write in their primary language.
• Organizational skills.
• Basic math skills.
• 84 Components Fork Truck License.
• Makes timely and sound decisions and uses resources wisely.
• Displays a positive, can-do attitude and maintains composure in difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Train in all areas of the Yard Department, including operating various types of mobile and fixed equipment such as forklifts and loaders.
• Complete the required training hours for each job position and the practical test to become a qualified operator.
• Interpret operational procedures and parameters, including Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
• Recommend improvements to make the workplace safer for self and others.
• Demonstrate dependability in attendance and work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Work effectively with team members or independently, and give and receive feedback constructively.
