About The Position

The Fork Lift Operator operates equipment to move, locate, stack, receive, load, and maintain accurate inventory. The operator must adapt to changing conditions and may perform tasks beyond those outlined in the job description. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The warehouse is environmentally controlled, though it can be cold when loading trucks in winter. The noise level is usually low. The expected pay rate is $17.60 per hour, with a $2 per hour shift differential for hours worked after 2 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of forklift experience.
Ability to obtain a Lift Truck License.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Responsibilities

Complete a forklift safety inspection and record it on the checklist.
Unload trucks using a forklift.
Tag products accurately, record them in the WMS, and place them in the proper location.
Record all product movement in the WMS to maintain inventory accuracy.
Use the First In First Out (FIFO) inventory-control method to ensure high quality.
Unload inbound shipments and accurately record lots, quantities, and storage locations.
Load outgoing shipments and verify the correct items and quantities are picked for each order.
Inspect inbound and outbound trucks for trailer holes, infestations, chemicals, and other potential food-safety issues.
Complete the trailer inspection checklist.
Receive finished goods from production and accurately record their locations in the WMS.
Ensure outbound trucks are safety sealed.
Perform daily housekeeping chores.
Recognize and report food-safety and employee-safety issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
