About The Position

The Fork Lift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move and build pallets in preparation for product shipment. This role involves reviewing daily schedules, performing pre-inspections, operating the forklift according to safety procedures, and troubleshooting minor operational issues. The operator will locate and retrieve products, build pallets, move them to the staging area, and assemble customer orders. This position requires manually lifting boxes up to 80 lbs and using a shrink wrapping machine. The operator will also utilize a scanner for inventory tracking and ensure proper labeling of pallets and boxes. Maintaining a fast-paced work environment, production and quality standards, and proper housekeeping are essential. All other assigned duties will also be performed.

Requirements

Forklift Certification
Pallet jack certification

Responsibilities

Review daily schedule and report to work area
Perform forklift pre-inspections and report operational problems to the Team Leader
Operate forklift in compliance with proper operating instructions and safety procedures
Refuel forklift at end of shift and/or as needed
Troubleshoot minor forklift operation issues and make adjustments
Locate and retrieve products to build pallets manually and/or with forklift in preparation for shipping
Move pallets with forklift to staging area
May use electric or manual pallet jack to move products
Gather and assemble specific customer orders
Manually lift boxes ranging in weight from 1 lb. to 80 lbs. to build approximately 28 pallets per day
Use shrink wrapping machine to prepare pallets for shipping
Palletize boxes maintaining a pace commensurate with daily schedule
Utilize scanner to locate inventory and maintain inventory tracking
Place proper labels on pallets and boxes according to company procedure
Perform work in a fast paced environment, maintain production and quality requirements
Maintain proper housekeeping of area and equipment
Perform all other duties as assigned
