About The Position

This role involves operating a forklift in a safe manner, loading and unloading goods, moving materials, and stacking items within a facility. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, inventory control instructions, and performing daily equipment checks. The job also includes tasks such as emptying trash and dumping materials into machine hoppers. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • 1+ years proven experience as forklift operator
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Good math, language and skills; basic computer skills may be required
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
  • Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
  • Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
  • Maintain a clean & safe environment
  • Forklift certification per OSHA standards
  • Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
  • Frequently lifting to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
  • Having a good sense of balance
  • Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season

Responsibilities

  • Operating the truck in a safe manner always watching out for pedestrians.
  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks.
  • Moving materials packed on pallets or in crates around the facility
  • Stacking goods in the correct storage locations, following inventory control instructions
  • Checking loads are secure
  • Stacking empty pallets
  • Performing daily equipment checks such as oil levels, propane tanks, the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment
  • Empty trash hopper into waste receptacles located outside.
  • Dumping materials into machine hoppers
