Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks for the aerospace propulsion market, is in search of a Forge Process Manufacturing Engineer to support the organization. The Forge Process Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all aspects of part maturation from raw material to end use. This role is specifically for New Part Introduction. Responsible for development of disk hardware through Forge and Heat Treat processes; perform finite element analysis to define forging, heat treating, and tooling shapes utilizing DEFORM software; create engineering drawings for raw material, laboratory testing sample locations, and forge tooling Analyze survey data to ensure parts meet required mechanical properties; follow parts through gated development process phases from product definition to delivery; be responsible for all aspects of part maturation from raw material to end use. Develop and implement plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace disk forgings; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation Own relentless RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) for correcting non-conformance in the part families; perform DIVEs (Define, Investigate, Verify, Ensure); implement and monitor corrective actions; monitor and report on the health of a part family; monitoring the non-conformances and how the part ‘runs’ compared to ‘standard’ times Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations; develop disk process using statistical methods that meet or exceed the business objective for process control.
