The Forge Operator is responsible for forging aluminum slugs into parts using a forge press. This role involves working from production orders and job tickets, following work instructions, and ensuring the correct material and dimensions are used. The operator will set up and operate forge presses, manage dies, perform equipment checks, and troubleshoot settings as needed. Key responsibilities include understanding press settings, proper slug location, temperature, tonnage, alloys, and lube mixtures. The role also requires identifying and correcting defects, completing paperwork, reporting equipment issues, monitoring DAS stations and furnace operations, inspecting dies, and notifying Quality of any issues. Additionally, the operator will maintain daily timekeeping and production records, report unsafe conditions, and actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment.
