About The Position

The Forge Hammer Helper I supports forging operations by assisting with handling metal parts, operating equipment, and maintaining production workflow. The role involves supporting hammer operations, preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and quality standards are followed throughout the forging process.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment according to safety standards.
Ability to read and understand basic instructions and documentation.
Ability to lift and move materials up to fifty pounds.
Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment with high noise levels and mechanical equipment.
Six to twelve months of related experience or training in manufacturing or industrial operations.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting production or metal fabrication processes preferred.
Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or similar equipment preferred.
Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry for measurement and calculations.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Ability to work in physically demanding industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Transfer and lift metal parts to and from workstations including furnace, hammer, and anvil using appropriate tools or manipulators.
Place punches on parts to support hole punching operations.
Rotate, turn, and flip metal parts during hammer operations using shears, bolsters, and levers.
Remove scale from workpieces and dies and mark materials with specified identification using metal stamps.
Apply lubricants such as graphite and coal throughout the forging process.
Measure rough and finished parts using measuring tools to ensure proper fit and specifications.
Conduct setup of sizing equipment used during the forging process.
Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and manipulators as required.
Grind surfaces of finished parts using portable and stationary power grinders.
Maintain housekeeping and ensure a clean and organized workstation.
Follow company procedures, work instructions, and safety policies at all times.
