This position involves determining boundary and road layout for future harvesting, ensuring all protocols and best practices are followed, including working alone, wildlife safety, environmental safety, health management, and safe operation of equipment. The role requires assessing and documenting riparian features, traversing proposed alignments for map creation, collecting data, identifying ecological site types, and mapping operational hazards. Responsibilities also include completing road engineering estimates, conducting appraisal data field surveys, remote camping, wilderness exploration, completing timber reconnaissance, and assisting timber cruisers. The technician will ensure field camps meet company standards and OH&S requirements, and comply with all applicable laws and company policies. A key aspect is supporting and actively participating in the company’s culture of safety and employee ownership. The position will require travel to, from, and between work sites, and may require duty during emergencies or natural disasters. Operation of trucks and ATVs is also part of the role.
