About The Position
This role is for an experienced forestry graduate to join the procurement team. The position involves evaluating timber quality and volumes, negotiating contracts, developing forest management plans, and administering timber sales. Compliance with wood certification programs and adherence to SFI guidelines are essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management required
- 2 years’ experience in forestry
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
Nice To Haves
- Pulp and Paper Industry experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Cruising timber to evaluate quality and volumes
- Negotiating timber contracts and developing forest management plans
- Marking timber and establishing harvest boundaries
- Administering timber sales and merchandising the products on that sale
- Maintaining compliance with PCA wood certification programs
- Being familiar with and following the SFI guidelines for Michigan
