Supervise and coordinate activities of workers assigned to his/her crew to ensure conformance to the job’s specifications within company standards. This role involves assigning tasks, evaluating work for safety, quality, and productivity, and conducting daily pre-work meetings with the crew. The Foreperson will maintain constant communication with the Project Superintendent, attend weekly project meetings, and provide training and guidance to crew members, including apprentices and new hires. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a clean jobsite, providing safety and technical support, and assisting in the training and enforcement of the company’s safety program. The Foreperson will also monitor training, provide feedback, and assist with preplanning and high-risk work activities. Involvement in the company apprenticeship program, including instructing and mentoring, is expected, along with monitoring apprentice progress and completing On-the-Job Training records. Coordination with the Project Superintendent is crucial to ensure projects are adequately staffed and equipped to meet safety, budget, and production goals. The Foreperson will monitor job cost reports, order materials and equipment in advance, and ensure all company paperwork, including personnel reviews and time sheets, is completed accurately and on time. Daily equipment checks and accurate reporting of equipment hours are also required. Finally, the Foreperson will coordinate and complete punch list, inspection, or testing items in a timely manner.
