About The Position

The Food Plant Foreperson is responsible for supervising daily production operations, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met, coordinating employees, and maintaining efficient production schedules. This role oversees plant personnel, monitors equipment and processes, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of food manufacturing experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Redzone) preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
  • At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities.
  • Lead, train, and motivate production employees.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor production schedules to meet quality, efficiency, and output goals.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production lines and equipment.
  • Address production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records.
  • Enforce workplace safety procedures and ensure employees use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), Lock Out Tag Out, etc.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, quality assurance, and warehouse departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Minimize downtime, waste, and production costs while maximizing food safety, quality, and productivity.
