About The Position
EY's Forensics Insurance and Federal Claims Services practice specializes in helping clients achieve their financial recovery goals following disaster events such as hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, and pandemics. As a leading professional services firm, we offer grants management, compliance, and insurance claims services to some of the most complex and prestigious public and private sector entities. This EY team consists of a diverse group of professionals, including accountants with disaster management experience, forensic accountants, engineers, former FEMA professionals, and other claims experts, all working collaboratively to provide our clients with unmatched expertise.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, law, finance, business, emergency management or related field
- 2+ years of related compliance, audit, financial management, disaster recovery and/or emergency management experience, ideally with a government agency or professional services firm
- Achieved, or be working towards a professional designation, such as CPA, CEM, CFE
- Effective organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Good attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
- Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations

Responsibilities
- Work with engagement teams to provide government and public sector clients with a variety of services associated with the management and compliance of disaster recovery funding made available through complex grant and stimulus programs (FEMA, HUD CDBG-DR).
- Manage large projects for states and local governments.
- Lead interactions with local governments to support project development.
- Verify numerous aspects of compliance including transaction testing and programmatic requirements.
- Manage and participate in teams who undertake monitoring of federally funded projects.
- Leverage technical skills to creatively assess and resolve our clients’ needs from the front lines.
- Travel and presence at client sites, along with in-office presence will be required.
