About The Position

This position advocates for and assists individuals admitted to the Forensic Program with coping in crisis situations and with admission into services for those who are referred by the criminal justice system and diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. The role involves providing assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment services to identified Forensic clients, including outpatient, evidence-based, and trauma-informed counseling. The position operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care, aligning with CCBHC standards. Responsibilities include attending audits and client reviews, assisting with community outreach and trainings, and performing other duties as requested by the Forensic Program Director.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or Counseling
Two (2) years Human Services experience
Current driver’s license and vehicle for use at work
Self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
Knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
Ability to handle money/make change
Ability to generate, read, interpret, and take action as it relates to basic financial statements, national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy / procedures
Ability to effectively communicate
Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships
Ability to work with skill in identifying problems
Access to confidential information abiding by the organization’s privacy policies and regulations concerning this information

Nice To Haves

Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist preferred
Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred

Responsibilities

Advocate for and assist individuals admitted to the Forensic Program with coping in crisis situations.
Assist individuals referred by the criminal justice system and diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness with admission into services.
Provide assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment services to identified Forensic clients.
Provide outpatient, evidence-based, and trauma-informed counseling.
Ensure treatment is in compliance with Center policies, program procedures, and clinical guidelines.
Attend regularly scheduled Fore audits and client reviews.
Assist Program Directors with community outreach and trainings when necessary.
Perform other duties as requested and authorized by the Forensic Program Director.
Operate under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care.
