About The Position

The Oregon State Police in Clackamas, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Forensic Supervisor 2 position. This is an in-office position without the opportunity for a remote or hybrid work schedule. Requirements

  • Four years of lead work, supervision, management, or progressively related experience in forensic science for an accredited laboratory; OR A bachelor’s degree in natural science, physical science, forensic science, or a closely related field AND one year of experience managing in an accredited forensic laboratory; OR A master’s degree in natural science, physical science, forensic science or a closely related field; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to provide credible sworn testimony in a criminal or civil proceeding arising from the performance of duties.
  • As a condition of employment and / or to routinely work in any of the Forensic Services and Pathology Division’s laboratories in any capacity, all individuals are required to provide appropriate samples for inclusion into the Confidential Staff DNA Identification Index.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise autopsy technician staff and provide support for all morgue functions, in service of assisting and supporting the state forensic pathologists.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Review and establish morgue procedures.
  • Maintain morgue equipment and supplies inventory.
  • Manage weekly autopsy technician work schedules.
  • Interview and recommend hiring of new staff members.
  • Provide training for subordinates.
  • Evaluate subordinates’ performance.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary actions to ensure adequate and competent staffing.
