About The Position

The Forensic Psychologist is an integral team member of the Behavioral Health (BH) department and the agency. This position is responsible primarily for providing forensic evaluations as recommended by family court. The Forensic Psychologist is in the critical position of assessing for child and family needs, parental capacity, parental mental health needs and presenting the information to the court. Additionally, the Forensic Psychologist may get called to provide court testimony. Supervision of other licensed clinicians provided forensic evaluations will also be required. Therefore, a very important part of the Forensic Psychologist’s role is formulating appropriate recommendations and sharing ideas related to families with the court and supervisees.

Requirements

Current PA state licensed psychologist.
Experience with conducting and writing comprehensive evaluations and assessments in report format.
Two years verified experience working in forensic systems with underprivileged populations.
Experience and knowledge in working with adults, children and families with a history of trauma, DSM-5 diagnosis and involvement with systems such as DHS and juvenile justice.
Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, specifically urban communities and the ability to deliver services in a culturally competent manner.
Willingness to deliver services across settings, i.e. – multiple JJC locations, telehealth, etc.
Ability to complete all evaluations and reports within specified time frames outlined by regulatory entities and family court.
Current criminal history and child abuse clearances and FBI background clearances.
Current Professional Liability insurance that is in good standing.
Accessibility and knowledge of computer systems including Electronic Medical Records (EMR), document writers and telehealth platforms.

Responsibilities

Providing forensic evaluations as recommended by family court.
Assessing for child and family needs, parental capacity, and parental mental health needs.
Presenting information to the court.
Providing court testimony.
Supervising other licensed clinicians providing forensic evaluations.
Formulating appropriate recommendations and sharing ideas related to families with the court and supervisees.
Ensuring compliance with all JJC’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality and reporting suspected abuse in accordance with CPSL, 23 Pa.C.S. § § 6301—6385, and JJC policies and procedures.
Participating in meetings to ensure priorities are clear, coordination is good and communications are open.
Cooperating and communicating as a multi-disciplined team member through formal meetings, informal discussion and other participation as necessary.
Modeling traits of a responsible team member, executing job responsibilities, open communication, good follow-through; supporting team members to do the same.
Responding promptly to the concerns and interests of the clients, parents, guardians and funding entities and other JJC staff.
