About The Position

This position is located at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry: 8303 Platt Road, Saline, MI 48176.

Requirements

  • Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan.
  • Completion of three years of successful training in a psychiatric residency-training program which yields a certificate of completion (for P17).
  • Completion of a psychiatric residency program, one year of experience as a psychiatrist in a mental health facility, clinic, program or correctional facility and certification as a Consulting Forensic Examiner by the Center for Forensic Psychiatry (for P18).
  • Certification as a Consulting Forensic Examiner within first year.
  • Must apply online via NEOGOV.
  • Relevant experience and/or education must be documented in the resume, transcript and/or application.
  • Attach a resume identifying specific experience and dates of employment (month and year, hours per week).
  • Attach a cover letter.
  • Attach a copy of official transcript(s) (scanned copies accepted, but not web-based, internet, or unofficial copies).
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check.
  • The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Some positions require possession of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology "general requirements" for certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Some positions require possession of ABPN general psychiatry certification with special competency.
