About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. The Forensic Interviewer will be expected to work closely and effectively with investigators, prosecutors, mental health specialists, medical providers, social services, advocates and others involved in a case. Conducts developmentally appropriate, forensically sound and thorough forensic interviews with individuals regarding allegations of abuse or neglect. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team members in abuse or neglect cases. Acts as an advocate to create and support high standards for abuse or neglect investigations. Provides education, prevention and training to agencies and communities. Coordinates the case review process. Testifies in court.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field.
  • Two years’ work experience with children in human services, criminal justice or related field.
  • Individuals with forensic interviewing responsibilities must demonstrate participation in ongoing education in the field of child maltreatment and/or forensic interviewing consisting of a minimum of 8 hours of Continuing Education Unit (CEU)/Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits every two years.

  • Master’s degree in related field preferred.
