The Foreman leads a crew in constructing, maintaining, and repairing energized and de-energized underground electrical distribution systems, prioritizing safety and the quality and timely completion of each project. The role involves working at different job sites, potentially out of state, as operational and customer needs dictate, and reporting to the General Foreman. The Foreman conducts pre-job and tailgate safety briefings, coaches and trains lower-classification employees, installs and repairs underground facilities and conductors, and troubleshoots and locates faults on primary and secondary systems. The role requires knowledge of switching and tagging, grounding, induced voltage, reclosing devices, and the proper use of tools and test equipment. Work may involve live-line tasks, confined spaces, proximity to energized equipment, and operation and maintenance of excavation and pulling equipment. The position includes outdoor work in varying and sometimes extreme weather, travel and extended assignments, and availability for outages, storms, emergencies, on-call rotation, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Employees must follow safety protocols and use required PPE and insulated tools and protective cover.
