About The Position

The Foreman is a technically oriented leader with a background in electrical construction and coordination of materials, equipment, and human resources. This role involves running a crew or project, supervising employees, and ensuring high crew productivity. The Foreman is responsible for creating schedules, understanding cost codes, managing materials, and ensuring safety compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum six months at Foreman Level I or one completed project.
  • 4+ years electrical construction experience; 1 year at JW level.
  • Completes 24 hours of continuing education annually.
  • Understands Foreman duties, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Knowledge of NEC required.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • NFPA 70E Qualified
  • Defensive Driving
  • OSHA 30 Certified
  • First Aid and CPR Certified
  • Competent Person Trained

Responsibilities

  • Runs a crew or project up to 15,000 man-hours per year.
  • Supervises 5–10 employees.
  • Maintains 80%+ crew productivity.
  • Creates accurate 3-week schedules.
  • Understands cost codes and reporting.
  • Differentiates contract vs change order work.
  • Supervises and develops team members.
  • Adapts to project scope.
  • Uses field/shop drawings effectively.
  • Supervises craft personnel and monitors productivity.
  • Adjusts labor, materials, tools, or layout as needed.
  • Coordinates layout and creates dimensioned sketches.
  • Coordinates installation with other trades.
  • Follows scheduled activities.
  • Reports delays to supervisor.
  • Plans bulk material purchases.
  • Verifies wire lengths.
  • Rejects non-compliant materials.
  • Avoids duplicate ordering.
  • Conducts weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintains safety records and injury reports.
  • Attends subcontractor meetings.
  • Submits accurate time tickets.
