Requirements

A thorough understanding of construction procedures, methods, practices, equipment, tools, materials, and utilities.
Strong background in all facets of AC paving, including the placement, rolling and compaction, and quality management of materials.
Highly motivated to train and develop the crew.
Excellent time management, problem-solving, leadership and motivational skills.
The ability to pre-plan, schedule and organize work and the work of others.
An understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce those regulations to protect the employees and the company.
Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects at different worksites.
Ability to work in high pressure situations at a construction site.
Able to effectively work with Agency and Owner representatives.
Excellent verbal and written communication is required.
Willingness to travel across San Diego County and surrounding areas.
Must have a valid driver’s license as driving on behalf of the company is required.
Several years of experience running heavy civil jobs.

Responsibilities

Pre-plan and schedule assigned work based on project schedule that has been set up by Project Superintendent or Project Manager.
Coordinate and supervise activities of field workers and construction needs for all phases.
Organize and schedule necessary equipment through dispatch.
Initiate, maintain and complete timesheets and other related paperwork on a daily basis and in a legible manner.
Assign workers to their respective duties and making sure that they have the appropriate training and tools to execute their jobs accurately.
Make sure that regulatory needs and safety measures are maintained.
Assess the most efficient way to complete a project without sacrificing quality of the work being done.
