About The Position

CVM Electric is a fourth-generation, family-owned electrical contracting firm serving the Western New York region since 1919, delivering commercial, industrial, and residential electrical solutions across the full spectrum of construction and service work. We trust our Foremen to own their job sites, and we back them up with the resources, team, and leadership support to do it right. The Foreman at CVM Electric is the on-site leader responsible for keeping field operations running at peak performance. This is a working lead position, you’ll be in the field every day alongside your crew while taking full ownership of the job from the ground up. You’ll direct sub-foremen, electricians, and apprentices, manage the job site day-to-day, and serve as the direct link between the crew and the Project Manager. Strong field experience, proven crew leadership, and the drive to hold the standard on every site you run are what this role demands.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial and/or industrial electrical field experience
  • 1–2 years in a working lead or foreman capacity directing a crew of 2 or more
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a job site from start to finish
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams
  • OSHA 30 required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • NY State Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred
  • Existing relationships with GCs, developers, or property owners in WNY a plus

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the daily work of sub-foremen, electricians, apprentices, and helpers on commercial and industrial job sites
  • Assign tasks, set daily priorities, and keep the job on schedule
  • Perform and oversee installation of conduit systems, MC cable, wire, panels, switchgear, and devices per NEC and project specifications
  • Install and terminate large electrical services, utility transformers, and generators
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and determine corrective action efficiently
  • Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, and inspectors
  • Manage materials, tools, and equipment on site; communicate needs to the Project Manager
  • Complete daily work reports, timesheets, and required site documentation
  • Mentor and develop apprentices and journeyman electricians on trade techniques and safety
