About The Position

Lindamood Inc. is seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee field crews on heavy civil projects, including roadwork, grading, excavation, and site development. This role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, managing crews and equipment, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, demolition, strong field leadership skills, and the ability to operate heavy construction equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in civil construction, earthwork, road construction, or heavy civil operations.
  • Strong experience with roadwork, earthwork, grading, and excavation.
  • Experience with GPS, grade-control, or machine-control systems.
  • Ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to read construction plans, grading plans, elevations, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous foreman, lead, or crew leadership experience preferred.
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR certifications preferred; training may be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise equipment operators, laborers, and other field personnel.
  • Plan and assign daily work while monitoring production, quality, and schedule.
  • Oversee road construction, earthwork, grading, excavation, and site preparation activities.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, elevations, specifications, and grading requirements.
  • Operate heavy equipment as needed, including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, compactors, and similar equipment.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and jobsite logistics.
  • Work with the Superintendent on short-term planning and upcoming project needs.
  • Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Lead daily JHA/JSA meetings and toolbox talks and ensure crews follow company and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions or field issues and take corrective action or communicate concerns to project leadership.
  • Maintain accurate daily records for labor, equipment, materials, production, and jobsite activity.
  • Mentor and support operators, laborers, and junior field employees.
