Experienced Foreman & Tree Climber
About The Position
The Davey Tree Surgery Company is offering a key opportunity in Tree/Utility Line Clearance as a Foreman with climbing experience. This role involves providing crew supervision and line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers. Services include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal, and removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects. The Foreman will direct crew members and equipment, plan and execute assigned work, and supervise the maintenance, preparation, and operation of all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. This position operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climbers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Driver’s license required
- 5+ Years of Tree Level Foreman required
- Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience required
- Pre-employment Drug Screen and Social Security verification required
Nice To Haves
- Commercial driver’s license preferred but not required
- Pesticide license, if required by state law
- Herbicide license a plus
- Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
- ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain
Responsibilities

- Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks
- Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
- Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundmen and Trimmer/Climber
- Ability to perform all above mentioned functions
