About The Position

The Signal Foreman plays a critical leadership role in the construction industry, overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of signal systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This position requires managing a team of signal technicians and coordinating with project managers to meet project deadlines and quality standards. The Signal Foreman is responsible for interpreting technical drawings and specifications to guide the team in executing complex signal system tasks. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards is paramount to protect both personnel and infrastructure. Ultimately, the role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication to maintain uninterrupted signal operations and support overall project success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in signal system installation and maintenance within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role managing technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of signal system components, electrical wiring, and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or vocational training in electrical systems, signal technology, or related fields.
  • Experience working with railroad or transportation signal systems.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software for project management and signal system diagnostics.
  • OSHA 30-hour safety certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of signal technicians in the installation, testing, and maintenance of signal systems on construction sites.
  • Interpret and implement technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications related to signal infrastructure.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure timely project completion.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction personnel to resolve technical issues and optimize workflow.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and personnel hours for reporting purposes.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members to foster skill development and safety awareness.
