Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of installation methods for underground duct and aerial path and cable construction, handhole and manhole placement, site layouts, road, and landscape restoration, and grounding.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Ability to operate mini-x, skid steers, and other heavy equipment as needed.
  • Strong verbal and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the schedule set forth.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Individuals should be in good physical health and capable of meeting the physical demands associated with this role.
  • Ability to travel away from home, including weekends.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction of aerial and underground fiber optic facilities to include, but not limited to site preparation, excavation, placement of underground/telco facilities, handhole and manhole placement, verification of utility locates; operates equipment to include skid steer, mini-x, trucks with trailers, power tools, and non-powered tools.
  • Provide leadership to the crew from the beginning of a project through completion, ensuring safety and quality standards, budget, and timelines are met.
  • Review documentation with the crew to prepare for the build, assemble the necessary materials and determine the required installation methods.
  • Supervise the tracking of all on-site inventory and materials.
  • Collect, review, and submit all on-site closeout documentation per the deliverable timelines.
  • Training crew members on proper safety/quality standards to align with CCDP (Crew Career Development Program).
  • Verify that the crew members have proper certifications and skillsets to perform the scope of work.
  • Maintain issued equipment and report deficiencies as needed.
  • Submit daily reports on on-site progress with any potential schedule delays and or needed / missing materials.
