Performs mosquito abatement under supervision to reduce mosquito numbers and lower the risk of mosquito-borne diseases. This role involves developing a knowledge of mosquito identification, basic mosquito biology, and control, and performing duties as part of an integrated pest management approach to mosquito control. The position also requires completing daily work records, preparing operational reports, training and evaluating crew members, driving and maintaining an assigned vehicle, and ensuring operations comply with the county’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit. The Foreman II is responsible for assuring a high level of productivity and efficiency, and adherence to all policies and procedures. Additionally, the role involves operating small tools and equipment for maintaining ditches and natural waterways, including removing and trimming vegetation, clearing, maintaining, and digging soil, trash, and objects to improve drainage.
