About The Position

Works under general supervise and assist in the completion of unskilled work activities.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience in on-the-job or formal training in the work which will be performed.
• High school diploma or possess a GED.
• Must possess a valid Tennessee Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a Class “B” Air Brake Endorsement or secure one prior to end od new employee screening.
• Must pass a physical examination.
• Must submit to and pass drug and alcohol screening.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to coordinate and supervise one or more employees plus inmates.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance and operations of power equipment.
• Knowledge of operating tractors with heavy bush hogs for grass mowing, brush chipper, and chainsaw.

Responsibilities

• Leads crew in the removal of trash and brush from area 10, county roads, and rights-of-way.
• Inspects work of assigned semi and unskilled laborers to accomplish daily work tasks.
• Drives commercial type crew cab line truck, operate support equipment, chainsaw brush chipper, packer truck, and scavenger truck.
• Maintains daily diary and work reports and record systems as required.
• Maintains inventory of tools and assigned equipment.
• Assists with dead animal removal.
• Reads road maps to find job locations throughout the county.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
