About The Position

The Earthwork & Grading Foreman is responsible for supervising field crews and coordinating daily earthwork, excavation, grading, utility, and site development operations on heavy civil construction projects. The Foreman ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of heavy civil construction experience as a Foreman.
Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, utility installation, and earthwork operations.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and grade information.
Experience managing crews and heavy equipment operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification is preferred.
CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily earthwork and grading operations.
Direct operators, laborers, truck drivers, and subcontractors to achieve production goals.
Interpret project plans, specifications, grade stakes, and survey information.
Coordinate excavation, embankment, grading, stabilization, and utility installation activities.
Monitor elevations, slopes, drainage patterns, and grade tolerances.
Schedule labor, equipment, and materials to support project objectives.
Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
Identify and resolve field conflicts, utility issues, and production challenges.
Coordinate with project management, survey crews, inspectors, and subcontractors.
Monitor productivity and maintain daily production reports.
Ensure compliance with environmental requirements, erosion control measures, and permit conditions.
Verify completed work meets project specifications and quality standards.
Assist with project planning, sequencing, and scheduling activities.
