What You’ll Do: Foreman: Enforce safety regulations Act as the Superintendent’s eyes and ears Possess the knowledge and skills to perform the tasks of a Carpenter and Laborer Monitor crew attendance and delegate responsibilities Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude to get the job done Willingness to work long hours including weekends as needed Bilingual is highly desired Carpenter: Erect scaffolding, ladders and stairs for assembling structures, construct formwork, install wood blocking, operate saws, hammers, drills and other mechanical equipment Build, repair, and install counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, building framework, trim, assist with layout of formwork, partitions, etc. Install door frames, doors, and door hardware Comply with company policies, safety regulations, and building codes Read and examine blueprints and spec book to determine requirements and correct applications Carpenter Helper: Assist Carpenter with erecting scaffolding, ladders, and stairs for assembling structures, constructing concrete formwork, installing wood blocking, operating saws, hammers, drills, and other mechanical equipment Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry using hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete-mixing machine Assist with preparation of concrete base including setting wood forms and positioning steel; measure and pour concrete; finish concrete; remove wooden forms and backfill; clean site; spread loam Perform a wide variety of technical and physical duties in the placement and finishing of concrete curb, slabs, and structures Ability to operate machinery, hand and power tools of all types: saws, air hammers, tampers, cement mixers, floats and trowels, small mechanic hoists, jackhammers, generators and a variety of others Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials Assist with layout and install templates of formwork, partitions, anchor bolts, etc. Read and examine blueprints Access confined spaces such as tunnels, shafts, or pits Laborer: Signal and guide operator to lift and move loads Assist carpenters with construction of formwork or other carpentry work Assist workers by moving machinery and equipment, or lifting and moving material Clean up debris and remove trash Assist with pouring concrete walls, floors, footings, etc. Push or pull loads as they are lowered and deposited in place
