About The Position

This role is for Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduates who have successfully passed the FPGEE and TOEFL. The program offers challenging opportunities to learn and grow professionally within a culture of continuous improvement, aiming to change healthcare for the better. As an intern, you will be immersed in delivering CVS Health's purpose of increasing access, lowering costs, and improving quality of care. You will complete a mixed modality learning plan, utilizing your pharmacy knowledge and skills to develop expertise in diverse patient care, practice management, leadership, and education. The goal is to prepare you to pass all required Pharmacist licensure exams. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and effective Retail Pharmacy work environment, delivering exceptional care to each patient. This includes responsibilities in patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management (excluding final prescription verification). A key component is keeping customers and patients healthy through patient care programs. You will lead with empathy, support your Pharmacy manager, identify business opportunities, adapt to change, seek growth and collaboration, align others around the purpose, and facilitate a team culture.

Requirements

Foreign Graduate from a Non-US Accredited college or school of pharmacy prior to beginning Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate Training Program at CVS
Successfully passing FPGEE and TOEFL
Pharmacist licensure in the state in which the position is based within 120 days of completion of US Intern hours.
High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED)
Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent Pharmacist degree from a Non-US accredited school of pharmacy
Active Pharmacy Intern license in state where district is located
0 to 3 years of prior relevant work experience

Accessing, inputting and retrieving any necessary information to/from the workstation
Maintaining in-stock by ensuring all inventory management policies and procedures are followed
Assisting with putting away drug orders (except Clls) as permitted by law
Delivering additional health care services as allowable by state regulation, individual certification, and as directed by pharmacy leadership team
Supporting supervising pharmacist in furtherance of dispensing drugs, reviewing prescriptions, and monitoring compliance
Offering to counsel and directing customer to pharmacist if necessary
Fielding any medical questions when appropriate
Communicating and interacting with all healthcare professionals to provide optimal care
Soliciting information on a customer’s medical history to give appropriate medical advice
Practicing and developing duties performed by pharmacists according to law
Communicating with Field Management and Corporate as needed
Participating in all required store operational meetings
Supporting maintaining a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy department
Supporting scheduling activities according to the needs of the business and workflow model
Coordinating/implementing the training and development of Pharmacy Support Staff
Recognizing others and celebrating success
Completing all required training programs
Immunizing once state regulations are met
