This role is for US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduates who have invested significant time and energy in their education and are seeking challenging opportunities to learn and grow professionally within CVS Health. The program immerses participants in a culture of continuous improvement with the goal of transforming health care. The position focuses on helping customers navigate the health care system by improving access, lowering costs, and being a trusted partner. As a US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate, after passing FPGEE and TOEFL, you will be eligible to complete required US Internship hours, apply didactic learning to real-world practice, and prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a mixed modality learning plan to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities. The internship must be completed within 18 months, and graduates must be prepared to pass all required Pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days of internship completion. Through hands-on experience, training, Key Learning Experiences, and leadership interaction, you will gain a deeper understanding of pharmacy practice, patient care, business acumen, and leadership skills. Responsibilities include assisting the pharmacy team in ensuring smooth operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and exceeding patient expectations. You will learn to operate as part of the pharmacy team by consistently applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication. Empathy, genuine care, and contribution to a safe and inclusive culture are expected in all interactions. The role involves contributing to safe and effective pharmacy operations, following SOPs, pharmacy workflow procedures, and demonstrating compassionate care. Specific duties include offering patient counseling, fielding medical questions, soliciting medical history, taking telephonic prescriptions, clarifying prescriptions with prescribers, providing in-the-moment coaching, completing basic inventory activities, contributing to a high-performing team, embracing feedback, and remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs. Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles is required, along with adherence to CVS policies for patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, recordkeeping, and patient privacy. The role may also involve delivering additional patient health care services like immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics, where permissible and supported by training. If supporting immunizations, responsibilities include completing licensure and training, educating patients on vaccine importance, monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions, and reviewing/collecting patient information.
