The Sampson County Health Department is looking for a dedicated and fluent interpreter to join our WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program team. As an interpreter in our WIC department, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all services, communications, and documentation are accessible and culturally appropriate for the families we serve. Your work will help clients receive the essential food benefits they need for proper nutrition and overall well-being. This position will assist clients through accurate interpretation during appointments; conducting interviews and gathering information to determine program eligibility; issuing eWIC cards and entering data into electronic health records; supporting the team in delivering respectful, clear, and inclusive services. This position will be required to interpret in other areas of the Health Department as needed. This position will also serve as the Vendor Coordinator and will consult with our State Vendor Consultant when necessary. This position will conduct vendor monitoring at our local approved vendor stores, maintain vendor files/applications, and will facilitate annual vendor training.
